My two love languages are touch and words. So I guess it makes sense that I have a fascination with the hands and words of God and how He uses them together to do great things…
He created the world with His hands and His words (Genesis 1:1, 3 – “…God created…God said…”)
He formed mankind with His hands and His words (Genesis 1:26,27 – “Then God said…so God created…”)
He writes man’s name in the palm of His hand (words on His hand) (Isaiah 49:16 – “…I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…”)
He touched the untouchable with His hands and His words (Mark 1:40-41 – “…Jesus …touched the man…He said, “Be clean.”)
He healed the sick with His hands and His words (Luke 13:12-13 – “Jesus…called her…and said…then He put His hands on her…”)
He welcomed children with His hands and His words (Mark 10:14-16- “…put His hands on them and blessed them.”)
He caused the blind to see with His hands and His words (John 9:6-7 – “…put it on the man’s eyes. ‘Go’, he told him…”)
He brought the dead to life with His hands and His words (Luke 7:14-15 – ‘Then He…touched…He said, ‘…get up!’ “)
He served the disciples with His hands and His words (John 13:1-17)
He fed the five thousand with His hands and His words (John 6:10-11 – “Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks…”)
He was nailed to a tree through His hands and gave up His spirit through His words -(Luke 23: 46 – “…into Your hands I commit my spirit.”)
I love how He uses His hands and His words together. Jesus, may I do the same every day of my life with every person you bring across my path.
I see His handiwork in my life and in the lives of those around me and I read His precious words. But one glorious day I will be held by those wonderful hands and will hear His beautiful words as He welcomes me home…
